Sprintex and Mest Water | Technology for Cleaner Agriculture in Europe
November 25, 2025
Introduction
Sprintex Limited has reached a transformational milestone with Netherlands-based Mest Water, marking a new era in clean-tech solutions for intensive agriculture. What began as a specialist compressor supply engagement has evolved into a full-system technology partnership, underpinned by a $16 million contract and a breakthrough in reducing ammonia emissions.
Who Is Mest Water?
Mest Water is a Netherlands company focused on advanced environmental solutions for the agricultural sector, with a strong emphasis on emission reduction and sustainable nutrient management. Situated in one of Europe’s most intensive livestock regions, Mest Water operates at the front line of technology-driven responses to ammonia and nitrogen regulations impacting pig and cattle farms.

The $16 Million Contract
Sprintex’s partnership with Mest Water centres on a contract valued at $16 million, reflecting both the scale and sophistication of the technology being deployed. On November 3, 2025, Sprintex announced that it had entered the final commissioning phase of this contract, confirming that system performance and efficiency are tracking to expectations.
From Components to Full-System Partner
Historically recognised for high-speed, energy-efficient compressors and blowers, Sprintex has now stepped into a new strategic role as a full-system technology partner. This project is explicitly described as a “Pioneering Full-System Technology Partnership,” signalling Sprintex’s evolution beyond supplying specialised components to designing, integrating and delivering complete solution architectures.
The ZLD-UP® Technology Platform
At the core of this collaboration lies Mest Water’s advanced ZLD-UP® systems, a next-generation platform designed to support zero-liquid-discharge style processing and high-efficiency treatment in agricultural operations. The Sprintex–Mest Water project involves delivering custom-engineered technologies that directly feed into full-scale ZLD-UP® production, enabling robust, scalable deployment in real farm environments.
Custom PLC-Based Control Systems
A critical element of the contract is the successful delivery and commissioning of custom-engineered, PLC-based control systems. These systems coordinate compressor operation, process parameters and safety interlocks, ensuring the integrated solution runs with high stability, precision and energy efficiency under field conditions.
Advanced Compressor Technology for Ammonia Reduction
Sprintex’s core contribution centres on its advanced compressor and blower technology, tailored explicitly to Mest Water’s ammonia-reduction process. In the Proactive Investors interview, Sprintex managing director Jay Upton explains that the collaboration focuses on a custom compressor system designed to reduce ammonia emissions from intensive livestock operations significantly.
Validated Performance and Efficiency
During 2024 and early 2025, Sprintex worked closely with Mest Water, including on-site visits by key technical teams in Europe to oversee commissioning. With the recent completion of compressor commissioning, Upton confirms that “the system [is] going as we would like,” meaning the performance and efficiency metrics targeted in the design phase have now been validated in practice.
Moving Into Full-Scale Production
Having successfully validated the compressor and control-system performance, Mest Water is now transitioning to full-scale production of its advanced systems. This shift unlocks the next phase of the partnership, where the installed technology can be rolled out to meet significant demand across the Dutch and broader European agricultural markets.
Addressing 22,000 Farms in the Netherlands
The scale of the opportunity is substantial: the Netherlands alone has around 22,000 pig and cattle farms, each subject to stringent emissions-reduction pressures. By coupling Mest Water’s process technology with Sprintex’s high-efficiency compressors and PLC-based controls, the partnership aims to provide a repeatable, high-performance solution that can be deployed broadly across this vast installed base.
Why Ammonia Emissions Matter
Ammonia emissions from livestock operations contribute to air-quality issues and nitrogen deposition, with direct regulatory and community impacts throughout Europe. Solutions like the Mest Water–Sprintex system are strategically important because they address emissions at source, enabling farmers to meet evolving environmental standards without sacrificing productivity.
Sprintex’s Role in Clean-Tech Agriculture
This project positions Sprintex as a key technology player at the intersection of advanced machinery, control systems and environmental compliance. By delivering compressors and integrated controls that are optimised for low energy consumption and high reliability, Sprintex directly supports lower operating costs and improved sustainability outcomes for agricultural operators.
Strategic Market Expansion
While the Mest Water project is centred in the Netherlands, it aligns with Sprintex’s broader international expansion strategy. In recent updates, Jay Upton has highlighted new distributor agreements in the UK, Turkey, and India, as well as growing opportunities for hydrogen production from biogas.
Showcasing Innovation on the Global Stage
Sprintex plans to present its G-Series industrial compressor technology at major trade events such as the Hannover trade fair in Germany, leveraging the Mest Water success as a proof point for real-world performance. Demonstrating validated field deployments in demanding European agricultural settings strengthens Sprintex’s credibility when approaching other sectors and geographies.
A Blueprint for Future System Partnerships
The Mest Water collaboration serves as a blueprint for how Sprintex can partner with process-technology specialists to deliver complete, market-ready systems. By combining its engineering know-how, high-speed compressor platforms and control-systems capability, Sprintex is well-positioned to replicate this full-system model in wastewater, biogas, industrial aeration and other clean-tech verticals.
Outlook
With the final commissioning phase underway and full-scale production now in sight, the Mest Water partnership stands as one of Sprintex’s most significant commercial achievements to date. It illustrates how targeted innovation, strong collaboration and system-level thinking can transform a specialist equipment supplier into a strategic, full-system technology partner driving sustainability across global industries.
