1. Do I need to ride the bike differently?
No, there is no need to ride the bike in a different manner with the Sprintex VRSC system installed, however you should be mindful that the performance of the motorcycle has been significantly increased.
2. Is there any special start-up and shut-down procedure?
No, you can start and stop the motorcycle in the normal manner.
3. Will the bike run any hotter with the supercharger fitted?
No, the Sprintex VRSC system comes complete with an electric water pump that is of sufficient capacity to ensure the motorcycle will not overheat in normal riding conditions.
4. Will I have to service the bike more frequently?
No, service requirements are detailed in the important information section.
5. How will my supercharger affect fuel consumption?
The system comes complete with a secondary ECU and supplementary injector.
A part of the function of the secondary ECU is to ensure the engine has sufficient fuel during boost phases. The more you ride in the boost phase the more fuel you will use.
6. What sort of performance improvement should I expect?
The Sprintex VRSC system is designed to provide up to a 40% increase in horse power from the motorcycles standard specification however this can vary up or down relative to regional specifications, ambient conditions and fuel quality.
7. Can I improve performance by fitting a different ECU?
You can remove the Sprintex supplied ECU and develop your own control system however this will void all warranty supplied by Sprintex.
8. Am I able to take the bike to a specialist tuner and alter the tune in the Sprintex supplied ECU?
The Sprintex supplied secondary ECU is specifically designed and built for Sprintex and contains proprietary software and as such is not available for sale as a separate item but only as part of a supercharger installation.
The system controls the supplementary injector, timing, ignition, has temperature compensation and other features required to ensure emissions compliance.
Therefore we are unable to sell either the unit or allow access to it.
In addition, the use of the Sprintex proprietary ECU allows us to provide a warranty which does become void when the unit is either tampered with or removed.
Refer to our warranty conditions.
9. Can I fit a smaller pulley for more boost?
This is not recommended as it would require an alteration to the tune. This modification would also void the Sprintex® supplied warranty.
10. Will the tune need to be modified if I fit a set of after market exhaust pipes?
In most cases no, however we have had examples where very short pipes can sometimes result in a lower power output. If unsure please contact your distributor.
11. Why is it recommended that I install a performance clutch?
We recommend that a performance clutch be fitted to better cope with the increased power output and provide a longer service life.
12. Can I run a non-standard rear wheel?
Yes, you can run a non-standard rear wheel which will not effect the operation of the Supercharger; however this may result in decreased rear wheel performance.
